HEY🌟🪩💗
Life in Cambodia is beautiful. The locals are kind and the kids are full of joy!
Our travel day started on Saturday October 14th, and we got to our new home on Wednesday October 18th. Travelling with 50 people is a challenge itself, but traveling for 98 hours was a whole other challenge. We laughed, cried, tried new food, had long layovers, slept on airplanes, floors, busses, and hostels.
Our first 10 hour flight left at 8pm and we went to Istanbul. After a 3 hour layover with just enough time to eat a snack and regroup, we got on another 10 hour flight to Thailand. In Thailand we had a 12 hour layover which was enough time for us to drive into Bangkok and walk through the streets for a few hours! After this layover we had a 1 hour flight to Phnom Penh. This flight had the worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced, but I was so tired it doesn’t feel real. We spent the night in a hostel and the next day drove 5 hours to Siem reap where we spent another night. We spent the morning getting coffee with our friends before my team said goodbye and drove 2 more hours away to our new home!
We are staying at a church that also has classrooms where we teach English in the afternoons. Our room has air conditioning and that has been the biggest blessing! In the mornings we eat breakfast at 8 and spend the rest of the morning doing house visits and meeting the locals. Our first class starts at 1:30 and the kids are 5-10 years old. We’ve gone over the days of the week, months of the year, shared bible stories, danced, and played games. My next class starts at 5 and we go over basic words based on a different letter each day.
God has been teaching me what it means to fully depend on him and rest in his presence. From travel to jumping straight into ministry me and my team are exhausted, but I have learned that my tiredness doesn’t stop God from moving in this place and I feel honored to be a part of his work. We have been given the opportunity to pray over members of the church that are sick, whose homes are flooded in waste deep water, and people who walk miles every Sunday to make it to church. Even when we pray in English, they don’t understand but the Holy Spirit is always there and that has reminded me again and again of Gods faithfulness.
Currently my favorite passage to read is Daniel 3. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had faith so strong they were willing to give up their lives. This encourages me to spread His name without fear, but full faith in his provision, love, and faithfulness.

✨❤️✨ I love this so much!
Thanks so much for sharing what you are doing. As a former English teacher and someone who taught English as a second language, too, I can only imagine the fun you are having trying to explain our crazy language! I know with the Holy Spirit will make it happen.
Last night (Friday) we went to the PHS v Bradshaw football game (Prescott lost but Jed had a great game!) with your parents and the Tubbs. We only stayed ’til 3rd quarter since – you know – we got tired and it was almost 9 o’clock. 🙂
Eli finally got his license which is great since Casey isn’t around to drive him! Really weird seeing him drive away on his own.
We love seeing your updates on Insta. Please let us know how we can continue to pray for you & your team.
Love from Prescott,
Amy
