hey!
Days here are long and busy, but time passes faster than I can comprehend. We get to spend our mornings doing house visits, and then our afternoons in the classrooms and it is so good! Once we add meal times, team time, and personal time to the schedule our day feels like a blur. I have been learning how to be intentional with my time so that I can live in the moment and get the most out of my time here.
In an effort to make the most of my time, I have decided to read the whole bible before I come home, 10 chapters a day! This is hard, and takes more time that I anticipated, but I am so excited to devote this time to scripture and understand more of the Bible! So far I have learned how to discipline myself to make this happen, less time on my phone and waking up earlier to have more time to read. This has been such a fruitful choice, I feel more and more prepared for ministry everyday as my faith and knowledge has grown significantly! I have a new found appreciation for the whole story of the Bible, compared to the broken up stories and passages Iโve read before.
Life in Cambodia this week has been extra busy and exciting! We started off strong with a wedding on Friday. We got dressed up, danced, sang, and ate amazing food. Saturday was my teammate Lydiaโs birthday, so we celebrated, watched a soccer tournament, met the governor, and partied and danced again! Then Sunday morning came with church and community lunch! Wow! We are so blessed to experience such a big weekend!
The people here love to dance, ( almost more than I love to dance which is saying a lot ๐ฅณ ) and being part of the wedding and soccer tournament gave me more insight into precious Cambodian culture!
Now let me tell you about the best part - MINISTRY!
House visits started off hard for me, but I am learning to love them more than anything. The locals welcome us into their homes to tell them about Jesus, hear their stories, meet their families, and pray for them! This is such an amazing opportunity to meet more of these people and hear amazing stories of Gods provision, and even share the gospel to people who have never heard!
These moments are precious because only through the His name do our words matter at all, and again and again I see God moving in this town and through these people. My own faith has grown through seeing these people and I am forever grateful.
After house visits we get to go to school! Our first class is 7-10 year olds and we teach about months, days, animals, sing songs and play games! My next class I teach alone and theyโre 11-13! We go over a different letter of the alphabet and words along with that letter. These classes are draining, but seeing these kids everyday is my favorite thing ever! They are so full of joy, and are so patient with us.
I am so grateful to have 4 more weeks in this amazing place!
Thanks for reading!!
I love and miss you all! ๐
