We started our drive to Thailand at 5am on December 1st! We drove for about 4 hours before getting to the Thai border. To get into the country, we had to walk through passport security and visas and then to the bus stop on the other side. This took about 4 hours and was a 1.5 mile walk. The walk was hard and my shoulders were bruised from my pack by the end of the day. Carrying everything we own on our backs is not easy but it builds character 😎

Once we crossed the border, we got back on the road to Chiang mai! We drove all day and through the night, eventually getting to our hostel at 5am the next day!

My team had to be ready to drive to our new home at 8:30 that morning, so instead of sleeping we walked to McDonald’s to eat some food after our long travel.

This travel day was hard to recover from, I slept the whole day once we got to our home!

We live at a coffee shop in the city which is a change from our small little town in the bode. The weather is cooler than Cambodia, but still in the 90’s so basically summer.

MINISTRY

We spent the last week painting a park in a neighborhood! This was so fun to watch the park transform as we continued to paint! It took us 4 days to finish and it was so fun every day! One of the days I stayed back to help do dishes in the coffee shop. I thought this was so fun and it made me miss working at home!

The week flew by, and in 3 weeks we will be on our way to Africa!!

My favorite thing about Thailand has been getting to know the baristas in the coffee shop, especially because the culture is so different than Cambodia.

Stay tuned for the next 2 weeks of ministry, it’s going to be good!!

  1. Hi dearest Faith, What a wonderful experience you are having.. I love Chiang Mai. Just be sure to wear a mask if riding in a tuk tuk because of fumes. The city is also a great place to get prescription glasses as I did years ago. There is also a wonderful elephant camp not far away that I hope you get to visit.
I want to wish you and all those you care about a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
    Love you always.

  2. We are praying for you as you continue your journey in various countries, and we thank the Lord for helping you and encouraging you. It isn’t easy to spend holidays away from family. May He bless you, keep you healthy, and draw you ever closer to Himself.
